Clear Aligners Write For Us
Clear aligners, also called invisible aligners, correct misaligned teeth and bites. They are a virtually invisible and removable alternative to braces designed with comfort and flexibility. To submit your article, drop us an email at contact@getworldbeauty.com.
Alignment trays are made from BPA-free plastic and are custom-made for each patient. Each chainring discreetly moves teeth in small increments.
Alignment trays are regularly changed every 2-3 weeks until the teeth are straight and aligned. The number of aligners you require depends on the severity of your tooth misalignment (malocclusion).
Some aligners do not touch the gums at all. They are cut to sit comfortably along the gum line in a “scalloped shape.” This design makes the trays less irritating and even more “invisible.”
How do Clear Aligners Work?
Treatment with clear aligners includes the following steps:
1. Consultation or Impressions at Home
First, you will visit an orthodontist for a consultation. During the consultation, a dentist will examine your teeth and perform an accurate digital scan of your mouth. A personalized treatment plan is then drawn up. You will receive a digital preview of your new smile before creating the aligners.
Some brands of aligners also allow you to send molds of your teeth using a “sticky putty” instead of visiting an orthodontist or doctor for a consultation.
2. Preparation of the Aligner
After your teeth impressions takes, your personalized treatment plan will be created using 3D technology. Once approved, the digital models are transferred to a production facility, and the aligners are fabricated. You will agree to the treatment, and the process will begin.
Note: If you purchased an impression kit and are not a candidate, you can request a refund for the equipment. However, aligners are not reimbursable if you approve the treatment plan.
3. Aligner Treatment Schedule
You will change your aligners every 1 to 3 weeks. For effective teeth straightening, you must wear them for about 20-22 hours daily. A single aligner can move teeth 1mm or less, so multiple aligners will needs. Treatment can last from 3 to 24 months.
4. Drains
After the treatment, a custom clear allowance is made from a mold of your newly straightened teeth. Restraints should be worn every night while sleeping to ensure the malocclusion does not reoccur. Most aligner manufacturers recommend replacing them every 6-12 months.
